Navigating Salesforce Flow in the Setup Menu
As great as Flow is, it’s useless to you if you don’t know where to find it! In this lesson you’ll learn how to find the Flow Builder, how to navigate the menu, manage Flow List Views, and how to access additional details and older versions of your Flows.
Navigating to Flow Builder
There are two ways to access Flow Builder from the Setup Menu. The first (and the method that I personally use) is to search the Quick Find bar on the left-hand side for ‘Flow’. Alternatively if you prefer to search for the menu manually, you’ll find it under the ‘Process Automation’ heading.
The Flow Menu
Once you’re in the Flow menu, you’ll see a list of your Flows (the ‘All FLows’ List View is pinned by default, but may have changed in your org) as well as a button to access Flow Trigger Explorer and another button to create a New Flow.
To view any existing Flow on the canvas, simply click on its name in the Flow Label column.
You can edit the columns or create a new List View using the same method you use with most other objects (Click the cog icon at the top-left of the List View).
All Flows List View
The All Flows List View displays all Flows in your org, and shows the following columns:
- Flow Label
- Process Type
- Active
- Template
- Package State
- Package Name
- Last Modified By
- Last Modified Date
Details and Versions
Each Flow holds additional metadata about the Flow and a list of every version of that particular Flow in a separate page. On the Flow Details page you’ll find important information such as the Namespace Prefix, URL, and API version.
At the bottom of the page you’ll find a Related List of Flow Versions. This shows a list of the historic versions of your Flow as they’ve been saved. If you ever need to revert to a historic version of your Flow, you can do so from here.
Summary
In this lesson you learnt how to find the Flow Builder, how to navigate the menu and manage the List Views, and how to access additional details and older versions of your Flows.
